The Bystander Initiative (BI) is unique to Canada, and UWindsor is a trailblazer for addressing a campus-wide approach to sexual violence prevention. The goal of BI is to shift the campus climate and build a community that looks out for one another.
UWindsor has been named #1 in Canada for measures taken to prevent sexual assault, largely due to the Bystander Initiative.
We take climate change seriously! In 2019, UWindsor was 1 of 16 Canadian U's ranked as one of the greenest in North America by the Princeton Review.
We are also home to the Great Lakes Institute for Environment Research (GLIER) that addresses complex environmental concerns.
UWindsor offers Walls to Bridges, which provides course credits to UWindsor students and incarcerated students inside jails, prisons, and community correctional sites collaboratively.
We also offer an Editing and Practicum course, where you assist in the production, publishing and marketing of the books from authors.
