It's a great time to become a teacher! According to the Ontario College of Teachers, there is a shortage of teachers in the province. Apply to become a teacher today and make a difference leading the next generation.

Up the highway from Windsor, school boards in London have been hiring hundreds of teachers and support staff to keep up with classroom demands.

Across the river from Windsor, the Detroit Public Schools Community District claims it is currently 250 teachers short, while the American Federation of Teachers says each year 300,000 public school teachers are needed nationwide and that the shortage is growing.

In Canada, teacher shortages have been identified in Nova Scotia and British Columbia.

Internationally, the UK is in the middle of an acute teacher shortage and the United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has issued statistics revealing that close to 69 million new teachers are needed to provide quality universal primary and secondary education by 2030.
